October 2011 Update

LAND Delivery and ConnectNY

A New York State task force has recently been established to evaluate the existing LAND delivery service and to make recommendations for a new service that will build on the current LAND system. The New York State 3R’s Association will be leading this effort and Gary Thompson (Director at Siena College) will be representing ConnectNY on this task force. The immediate goal is have a consultant work with the task force to examine the current system and develop options for improvement of service. For further information, visit ny3rs.org.

Update on Voyager Implementation Project

CNY recently accepted the memberships of Hamilton College, Skidmore College, and Hobart & William Smith Colleges. The plan is to test the new DCB clients for handling Voyager library bib records in the fall, provide for training of the Voyager staff, and then set forward a “soft launch” soon thereafter. As CNY gets closer to a launch of the system, we will notify CNY libraries and communicate with regard to potential system impacts.
